This is Miss Seena, the "not so blind" blind kitty. She should have been named "Super Kitty" because she survived on the streets of Baltimore until she was picked up by BARCS. Now that's a super hero! Seena is extremely independent. Within 4 days of living in her foster home she learned to go up and down the stairs, jump up & down off the tall rice bed, and learn the layout of the house. She is a very curious, independent explorer. Seena sometimes uses her foster mom as a seeing eye person; she follows her all around and chirps to be picked up and cuddled. She also uses her whiskers and tail as a guide to walk up and down the stairs. Seena is like any other kitty, she eats, drinks, and uses the litterbox regularly. She plays with toys, bolts up the stairs after her foster mommy, and follows her foster fuzzy siblings around the house. Seena is a very trusting girl and relaxes once you pick her up and begins to purr. She loves her ears rubbed and gentle pets. When preparing the home for Seena I did minimal kitty proofing and followed the below guidelines. She also loves to explore and you must ensure she does not rush out the door as a blind kitty cannot find their way home. Her sense of smell and hearing are very keen so she can easily find her food, water, and litterbox once showed where it is. She also prefers to be with the other cats and is good with my dog.
